Plant Description: Shrub to 1.5 m tall, often with stiff hairs. Leaves opposite, ovate, 5 cm or longer, the margins finely toothed. Flowers in heads up to 5 m broad. Corollas slightly bilateral, mostly opening yellow, then turning pink. Fruit roundish, drupes, turning black when mature.
Plant Trivia: Much hybridization has occurred with Lantana species resulting blurring of their original characteristics.
Field Identification: Has leaves with fine-toothed margins, without noticeable white hairs along the veins on the lower leaf surface.
Occurrence: Occurs on most soils.
Bloom Period: Year around
Plant Use: Land scaping. Flowers are nectar source for many insects.
