Plant Description: Perennial with spreading or prostrate stems to 1 m long. Leves 2-7 cm long, elliptical or lanceolate, opposite, margins minutely toothed. Flowers axillary, the corolla 8-10 mm wide, white. usually 4-lobed.
Field Identification: This species has leathery ribbed capsules topped wiht 2 calyx teeth. D. teres has capsules with no ribs, topped with 4 calyx teeth.
Plant Trivia:
Occurrence: Occasional on moist steam and ditch banks or in swales and marshes. Tivoli to Flour Bluff.
Bloom Period: March-November
