Plant Description: Perennial with stiff, lancelote, wavy, margined leaves. Succulent stems and sheathing leaves. Purple-blue flowers fading by noon.
Plant Trivia: This plant readily hybridizes so you will see quite a bit of variations in the field.
Field Identification:
Occurrence: Locally abundant in coastal sands from ANWR to Flour Bluff and Padre Island.
Bloom Period: February – June
