Plant Description: Annual to 65 cm high with ovate to obovate or oval leaves ,0.6-2 cm long, alternate. Flowers in axillary clusters, tiny male and female flowers appear on the same plant, crowded in small clusters in the leaf axils.
Plant Trivia:
Field Identification: Smaller of the Amaranths, has light gray markings on the top sides of leaves, but not unique to this genus.
Occurrence: Common to woodland fields and waste places.
Bloom Period: April – December
