Description: A perennial with erect culms to 60 cm or longer. Ligules 0.7-1.0 mm long. Panicle branches 1-20, in several closely spaced whorls. Disarticulation below the glumes.
Location: Found through most of Texas. Common in prairies, along roadsides and disturbed areas.
Soil Type: Most soils but prefers sand.
