Plant Description: Annual to 25 cm high with triangular-ovate to circular leaves 7-30 mm long, hairs, branching from the bases and lower stems, erect leaning, or lying down. Leaves opposite, blades roundish and crinkled, up to 2.5 cm broad, the lower one with petioles, and the upper ones with very short petioles or none. Flower in axillary clusters, bilateral. Corolla 1.5-2 cm long, purple or red.

Plant Trivia: Native of Europe. Early bloomer in our region. Self-pollinating.

Occurrence: Common on various soils in cultivated fields, in waste places, and along roads.
