Muhlenbergia capillaris

Description: Cespitose perennial without rhizomes. culms to 1.5 m long, erect. Sheaths become fibrous with age but never coil. Ligules 2-10 mm long, membranous, decurrent. Panicles open, diffuse, reddish, often contained in subtending sheath.

Location: Found in open woodlands, barrier islands and Flour Bluff. Found along Gulf Coast an eastern half of Texas.

Soil Type: Found in rocky, clayey or sandy soils.
