Plant Description: Glabrous, sticky, woody-based perennial or subshrub to 75 cm high with leaves 1.5-6 cm long, linear to obovate, alternate, Flower heads in corymbs, 6-9 mm long, discoid (ray flowers absent). Corolla orange-yellow. Involucres bowl-shaped.

Plant Trivia: Poisonous to livestock.

Occurrence: Frequent on various soils in prairies, openings, and along bluffs or ravines.

Bloom Period: September – November

Plant Use: Attractive for landscaping.
