Plant Description: Annual with usually with spindly, prostrate stems to 35 cm long and oblanceolate or spatulate to linear leaves 1-2.5 cm long, basal, in rosettes, stem leaves in whorls. Flowers tiny, petals absent, sepals 5, white. Tepals 1.8-3 mm long, white.
Plant Trivia: Introduced from tropical America.
Occurrence: Common on various soils in openings, prairies, waste places, ditches and fields. Often found around moist places but is not limited to them.
