Plant Description: Annual to perennial 60 cm or higher with glandular-pubescent leaves 2-5 cm long. Flower heads solitary or few together, 2.5-4 cm wide. Disk and ray flowers yellow. Leaf margins deeply toothed, leaves hold tight around stem, alternate, mostly oblanceolate, often sticky.
Field Identification: This aster is found in halophytic conditions often in conjunction with Sea Ox-eye Daisy. Its leaves are thinner and widely serrate along the edges. Serrated leaves make the plant appear spiny Crushed leaves produce camphor odor most of the year. Yellow ray and disk flowers bloom most of the year.
Plant Trivia:
Occurrence: Common on brackish grounds along the coast, mostly on beaches and salt flats. Salt tolerant (halophyte).
