Plant Description: Annual, perennials, or biennials with reclining or prostrate stems to 60 cm long and toothed or pinnatifid leaves 1-10 cm long, star shaped hairs; alternate. Lower leaf blades deeply cut; upper ones smaller. Flowers in racemes, the petals, 4, 6-10 mm long, yellow. petioles mostly absent. Fruiting pedicles curving downward; fruit flattened.

Occurrence: Frequent on sandy and clayey loams in prairies and openings
