Plant Description: An erect annual, 30-120 cm tall. Leaves opposite 4-20 mm long including the petioles, 2- or 3-pinnate. Flower heads 5-7 mm wide. Rays inconspicuous, whitish; disks yellow. Pappus awns have backwards faced barbs.

Field Identification: Commonly seen along the creek at Blucher Park; it is the only straggly aster with white petals and yellow center.
Occurrence: Found locally in Corpus Christi in a few places. First reported in 1982 from Greta Ranch, Refugio County.
