Plant Description: Perennial, hairy, with ascending or reclining sems o 75 cm long. Leaves 1.5-5 cm long, triangular-ovate, often lobed, alternate. Flowers in leafy racemes, the petals 1.5-2 cm long, rosy orange.
Plant Trivia: Endemic to Texas. Named in honor of Ferdinand Lindheimer, an immigrant from Germany who made great contributions to the knowledge of Texas plants in the 19th C.
Field Identification: Succulent leave structure, slight pink to stems, flowers yellow centered with tips of petals rosy orange. Very showy.
Occurrence: Frequent on deep sands both inland and along the coast.
Bloom Period: March-May, sparingly to December
